In the largest study ever of its kind, results from the University of Iowa (Oct 1992 issue of The Journal of Applied Psychology) revealed that hypnosis was the most effective way of quitting smoking- three times more effective than the patch and 15 times more effective than willpower alone.

These findings came from statistics combining 600 studies of over 72,000 people from America and Europe. Since then, these quit smoking techniques have been improved even further.

What sort of results can I expect?

Hypnosis gives you that normal, natural feeling of not wanting a cigarette. Many people have stopped smoking in the past, only to start again for some reason. You will be given solutions to help, if you find yourself in a similar situation again. The intention of the program is that after your session you don't have to use willpower, because all of you feels like a non-smoker, not just a part of you. You will get solutions to stop physical and emotional cravings.

Is hypnosis safe?

Hypnosis is safe. It is not dissimilar to the feeling we get when drifting off to sleep. With hypnosis you can only be directed to do what you already want to do. You are aware at all times and you can terminate the session at any stage. You will be given positive suggestions for better overall health, for less reduce stress and to remove the cravings for cigarettes. 

What does hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis is an enjoyable experience, it is often described as relaxing or energising. Many people report they "had not relaxed that deeply for years". Since trance is a naturally occurring state, you will likely feel a feeling of familiarity, no matter how deep in trance you go. 

What if I can't be hypnotised?

The only exclusions we have for hypnosis are;
- An IQ of less than 80.
- Medications that greatly effect the ability to concentrate.
- You are quitting only because of other people.

Almost everyone can successfully go into trance, as it is a naturally occurring state of mind (just like when we drift in and out of sleep at night). Quitting cigarettes for yourself and being able to concentrate on the day of your appointment are a necessity.

Can I really quit cigarettes in 60 minutes, is that long enough?

A typical appointment will last between 60-90 minutes and we will cover a lot of information in this time. The unconscious mind learns very fast and is able to produce lasting change, with the right systems in place. This is a comprehensive system, we will provide you with all the tools you need to be a non-smoker for life.

97% are successful, then what about the 3%?

Someone with a mental impairment, or a person on certain medications may find difficulty in quitting with this program. The people who will find the greatest success, will be those open to a few new ideas and who have a genuine desire to put cigarettes behind them.

I'm worried about putting on weight, does this system help me with that?

We will help you find healthy alternatives to replace your old cigarette habit. Please let us know in session, if this is a concern for you.

Will I have to avoid my friends or partner when I quit smoking?

Great question. One of the intentions of this session, is that you should be able to do everything you are already doing, but doing it smoke-free. You can freely spend time with anyone you choose, even if they are a smoker. Your loved ones will probably want to book for a session themselves, after seeing your results. We often see groups of friends or families coming in together.

I've tried hypnosis before and it didn't work?

On average it takes 10-15 times before a smoker quits forever. In this hypnotherapy clinic it takes 1-2 times. Think of anything you have done before, as lead up work to quitting smoking this time. I bet you have learnt a lot about what to do, and what not to do when quitting smoking. I don't look at cigarettes as good or bad, just are they working for you right now? We will do some good work in session, to make sure your needs are met. 

How will I know if the system works?

Because you will be a non-smoker. At the end of your session you will be asked if you are confident with the tools you have been given to stay a non-smoker. The full intention of the program is that you know and feel you have quit cigarettes. You will feel in control, doing everything you normally do, just without cigarettes. You will quit smoking.
